Mining Sluice

Put your mining and precious stone identification skills to work with this all ages activity! Participants receive a bag of pay dirt, a sluice box, gem identification card, and access to the multi-level sluice. This is a dirt & water driven activity – so miners prepare to get your hands dirty and feet wet!

Culinary Walking Tours

Experience a one-of-a-kind 3-hour culinary walking tour of Telluride.

Between plentiful samplings, get a longtime local's view of Telluride. The tour combines great food with great stories from chefs, owners, and locals. Meet some of Telluride's lively characters and hear their colorful tales. A "do not miss" experience. The goal is to make your tour a memorable, tasty event.

Eco Adventures Summer Camp

Eco Adventures provides fun summer kid’s activities to children ages 5-14 years through Telluride Ski & Golf.

Tennis

This summer, the Peaks is thrilled to welcome tennis pro Bill Austin to the team. Bill is an Elite USPTA certified tennis professional and has taught for over twenty years. He will be offering several clinics and lessons for all ages and availabilities. Here are some of the events coming up this season:

Mountain Village Bike Park

Accessed via Telluride’s free Gondola at Station St. Sophia, the Mountain Village Bike Park features intermediate and expert downhill mountain biking trails with berms, jumps, drops, rock gardens, table tops and fall lines.  The trails traverse through glades and forest on the Telluride Ski Resort into the town of Mountain Village.

Open daily from 7 AM until sunset, weather permitting, from mid-June to mid-October.

Nature Center

The Nature Center is open 9-4 daily beginning June 5th through September 3rd in 2017. We will be closed July 4th.

At the St. Sophia Nature Center you'll find information on hiking and biking trails, weather expectations and local ecosystems to help prepare you for your adventures in the area.  Interpretive displays include:  geology, animal tracks and signs, pelts and skulls, Native American history & water use. 

 

Mountain Biking

Telluride is surrounded by an extensive network of single track bike trails and old mining roads great for every skill level from beginners to the most advanced riders. Push the limits on one of Telluride’s classic single track trails, or take a scenic ride on Telluride’s valley floor alongside the San Miguel River. Telluride is the perfect place to rent a bike and explore the mountains or join an experienced guide on a personal tour catered to your skill level and interests.
